Hi, I’m Carly, your go-to for all things history!
Growing up, everyone said I would make a great teacher. My reply? “Why would I go to school my whole life just to go back to school?”
But once I stepped into the classroom, everything changed. Teaching became about inspiring curiosity, sparking creativity, and making a real difference.
Now, 15+ years later, I’m still passionate about bringing history to life through hands-on activities and experiences. When I’m excited to teach, my students feel it, and that is where the magic happens!

Why I teach and create curriculum
I was a hyper kid who thrived in active, fast-paced classrooms, and that’s how I teach today—engaging students with music, escape rooms, readers’ theater, and projects that connect history with science, reading, math, and writing. I design lessons that challenge and inspire all types of learners. Having taught in charter and private international schools, I’ve created interactive, student-loved curricula. During the pandemic, I embraced tech, crafting virtual escape rooms and multimedia lessons that fuel my passion for helping teachers innovate.
Life outside the classroom
When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me at Burn Boot Camp, F45, or cheering on the Astros and Tigers (thankfully, same team colors!). I’ve loved movement my whole life — from dancing at age three to cheer, track, and soccer. I’m also into country music, fall, Halloween, and trying new recipes at home with my 16-year-old rescue pup, Zoey Lynn.
